While listening & watching @elizabeth_gilbert_writer chat with Tayari Jones @tayari the author of An American Marriage I drew this pencil portrait of Ms. Jones. If you've read the book, go check out this interview/conversation, they're funny, intelligent, & very down to earth talented! It's a lengthy talk, but so worth your time. If you haven't read the book, be warned there are spoilers, but that might just make you want to read the book even more! Thank you for today's entertainment & helping me continue my portrait practice.
Well, that was fun! Listening/watching actress @nicolacoughlan & artist @mr_afaulkner on Sky Arts Portrait Artist Of The Week show (available through Facebook videos) was fascinating! Their rapport & conversation kept me completely entertained while I drew Ms. Coughlan's portrait. Thank you for being such a lovely model, & thank you @artistoftheyear for your wonderful show! Looking forward to the next episode & seeing whether Mr. Faulkner uses pink in the background of his dazzling acrylic portrait.
Yesterday's studio. Swipe left to see the mobile models. Fun little cabin escape on the southern Oregon coast --- can't wait to go back someday, but it's nice to be home.
While watching & listening to @emily_jeffords "Share the Work" videos, I drew this portrait from a screenshot. I cannot just sit during a video unless it's a movie or show. During talk videos or interviews or other artist demonstrations, I have to be doing something. Drawing a portrait of the speaker helps keep me connected & entertained & is a fabulous way to practice. Thanks @emily_jeffords for being a lovely model!
