Below are some photos of the creation process of “Grumpy Chicken” starting with the pencil drawing.
My reference photo is one I took June 2014 while painting plein air at theThompson’s Mill near Shedd Oregon. There were chickens, ducks and turkeys wandering the site, interrupting my focus.
