During our recent plein air visit to the Albany Carousel building, I painted a vintage carousel horse, then because of some unforeseen circumstances (see the previous post) I also started drawing a greyhound carousel dog. This is Neal, one of the newly finished carousel animals. Here is the painting shown from the initial drawing on watercolor paper to its finish. If you haven’t been to visit the Albany Carousel, go check it out – it’s a real treat! The people are very friendly and love to talk about the animals and artists carving and painting on site.
